A six-year-old girl and a motorcycle rider are receiving treatment at two hospitals in Hulhumalé following an accident that occurred on Tuesday evening on the Malé-Hulhumalé highway.

Police did not reveal details about the injuries sustained by the child and the adult in the accident; however, they stated that the child is receiving treatment at Tree Top Hospital while the adult is being treated at Hulhumalé Hospital. Police did not specify the gender of the adult.

According to the police, the accident was reported at 5:53 p.m. The accident occurred when a van exiting the Seaplane Terminal collided with a motorcycle travelling on the highway. Police said that the accident is under investigation.
