NDA seeks volunteers for drug rehabilitation programmes

The National Drug Agency (NDA) has announced an opportunity for individuals to volunteer as peer workers in support of drug rehabilitation efforts across the country.
The agency is currently seeking 30 volunteers to assist individuals undergoing treatment for substance use. According to the NDA, the initiative aims to enhance engagement and support for individuals requiring support.
Eligibility criteria include completion of at least 7th grade education or successful completion of any drug rehabilitation programme, and individuals must have a clean record.
Interested candidates are invited to submit a curriculum vitae (CV) to the NDA via email.
The peer support programme will be implemented at multiple locations across the Maldives, including the NDA Head Office, NDA Office in Galolhu Greenge, Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre in Kaafu Himmafushi, Halfway House in Hulhumalé, Dhagena in Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo, Vilunu Centre in Seenu Hulhudhoo, Drug Detoxification and Community Rehabilitation Centre in Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo, and centres in Seenu Hithadhoo and Gnaviyani Fuvahmulah.
The NDA is also working on a series of initiatives to strengthen the national drug treatment system, which includes efforts to accelerate enrolment into rehabilitation programmes and expand the number of trained counsellors available to support individuals in recovery.
