The Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure, Dr Abdulla Muththalib, has stated that the land dispute between Gan International Airport and Equator Village has been resolved.
The Gan International Airport development plan includes the construction of a departure road and a parking area on land currently occupied by the staff quarters of Equator Village. Despite multiple requests from the state to vacate the area, Equator Village failed to comply.
In a post shared on X, Minister Dr Muththalib stated that, following discussions with relevant authorities, the Addu International Airport (AIA) company has now resolved the land dispute.
He confirmed that the project will proceed as planned without interruptions, and commended AIA’s efforts to resolve the matter without delay.
Earlier, Minister Dr Muththalib had urged the parties involved to resolve the issue by April 17 to avoid any changes to the original project plan.
