The Maldives officially launches ‘Tradian’, a national single window designed to provide import and export services through a single platform.
The digital platform was established under the President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s vision to centralise and digitalize the import and export services and allow businesses to access different services related to international trade.
On February 2, the cabinet agreed to centralise this service by connecting all the government’s agencies that provide trade-related services on one platform.
As part of this transition, services provided under Maldives Ports Limited (MPL), such as registering foreign vessels, submitting vessel arrival information, and submitting sea cargo import manifests, will be exclusively provided on Tradian platform.
Maldives Customs Services is also offering several services through Tradian, including registering shipping agents, registering foreign-going vessels, registering freight forwarders, submitting vessel arrival information, and submitting sea cargo manifests.
In addition, the Government plans to fully transition all import-export related services to the Tradian platform. Starting June 1, all the related services will be exclusively available through Tradian.
