Imam Dr Salah al-Budair pays a courtesy call on President Dr Muizzu

Imam of Masjid Al-Nabawi, Dr Salah bin Muhammad al-Budair, paid a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Muizzu. 

The meeting was held at the President's Office this morning, where the President, Dr Mohamed Muizzu, warmly welcomed Dr Salah al-Budair to the Maldives. 

The President emphasised that the visit symbolises the longstanding brotherly ties between the Maldives and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, further highlighting that it has been 41 years since an Imam of Masjid Al-Nabawi officially visited the Maldives.

During the meeting, Dr Salah al-Budair expressed his gratitude for the invitation and hospitality. He highlighted the strong bond and shared Islamic values between the two nations, revealing hope for further strengthening bilateral relations. 

He also conveyed warm greetings and well-wishes from His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

At the meeting, President Dr Muizzu appreciated the Saudi government’s support in various areas of national development, especially in Islamic education. He also recognised the special care and hospitality extended to Maldivian pilgrims during Hajj and Umrah.

The meeting concluded with the President, Dr Muizzu, and Dr Salah al-Budair expressing that this historic visit would further strengthen the spiritual ties between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia.
