Cabinet reviews priority infrastructure projects in working session

The Cabinet convened on Tuesday at the President’s Office for a strategic working session focused on evaluating the progress of the Government’s high-priority infrastructure projects.

This session formed part of an initiative by the Administration to accelerate national development and enhance coordination among Government agencies and State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs).

Bringing together Cabinet Ministers and Managing Directors from key SOEs responsible for the implementation of major infrastructure initiatives, the meeting fostered direct engagement and collaborative planning. Participating entities included the State Trading Organization (STO) Plc, Waste Management Corporation Limited, Fenaka Corporation Limited, Road Development Corporation Limited (RDC), Maldives Transport and Contracting Company Plc (MTCC), and Malé Water and Sewerage Company Pvt. Ltd. (MWSC).

During the session, each representative delivered comprehensive briefings on their respective projects, offering detailed progress updates.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, who chaired the meeting, emphasised the critical importance of ensuring that all infrastructure projects are completed within their assigned timelines.

Furthermore, the President encouraged regular public communication regarding project milestones, stressing transparency and accountability as significant elements of the Administration’s development agenda.
