A joint operation conducted by the Counter Narcotics Intelligence and Drug Enforcement Department on April 22 led to the arrest of two individuals in connection with a drug-related case.

The operation targeted an apartment in Hulhumalé, where authorities apprehended Ibrahim Rasheed (40) from Seenu Hithadhoo, and Safiyya Mohamed (41) from Fuvahmulah. Both suspects were searched during the raid, and police reportedly seized a provisional total of 108.96 grams of illicit substances.

Following the arrests, Ibrahim Rasheed was remanded in custody for 15 days, while Safiyya Mohamed received a five-day remand.

Police confirmed that investigations are currently ongoing.
