The Maldives Police Service has addressed and dismissed the allegations that a suspect under investigation left the country. 

Police discovered a 21-year-old woman who had fallen from a residential building in the early hours of Friday. The woman is still in a critical condition and being treated at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

Regarding the case, police suspect seven individuals and have seized their passports and mobile phones. 

Allegations had surfaced claiming that one of the suspects had fled to Malaysia. However, the police denied these claims, confirming that none of the individuals under investigation had left the country.

As part of the ongoing investigation, Police took Raud Ahmed Zilaal of G. Eriyadhoo into custody last night. Authorities confirmed that he was with the woman inside the building at the time of the incident. CCTV footage released by the police shows both individuals together at the location.

Police revealed that before the incident, Raud and the woman had visited two other residences that night. They had been with seven individuals, and statements have been collected from all the parties involved.
