A 21-year-old man has been placed in five days' detention in connection with an incident where a 21-year-old woman fell from H. Fentenoy onto the roof of a neighbouring building during the early hours of April 18.
Raudh Ahmed Zilal, who was with the woman prior to her fall, was arrested on Friday evening under a court order. Police said that the court has ordered Raudh to remain in custody for five days as the investigation continues.
In addition to Raudh’s arrest, police have seized seven mobile phones under court order. The phones belong to the woman and several individuals who were with her that night. Authorities also confirmed that travel bans have been imposed on these persons of interest, including Raudh.
Two properties have been searched under court orders in connection with the investigation. Police said the searches were carried out at houses where individuals were active before the woman entered the residence from which she fell.
Officers searched the terrace, second and fourth floors of Ma. Maandhoogé, and the third floor of H. Kashiveligé. The former is the residence of Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Mohamed Ameen.
Although a gathering took place at Maandhoogé on the night of April 17, Ameen stated it was not held in his apartment. In a post on X, he said he was unaware of the gathering and denied influencing the case in any way. His statement followed accusations made against him by some members of the public.
