President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has expressed confidence that his official visit to Malaysia will open new avenues for investment in the Maldives.

The President made these remarks while speaking to the media at Velana International Airport before departing for Malaysia at the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

As part of the visit, he will attend a Business Forum organised by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, where he will meet with Malaysian investors. The forum is intended to provide detailed information on investment opportunities available in the Maldives across various sectors.

The President said that through initiatives like the Business Forum, the Government aims to explain investment opportunities clearly to entrepreneurs in Malaysia. He expressed hope that the visit would lead to the opening of many doors for future investment cooperation between the two countries.

During his stay, President Dr Muizzu is also scheduled to meet with members of the Maldivian community residing in Malaysia. Additionally, the President will visit the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM), where he is scheduled to deliver a lecture.
