Qatar Airways and the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at promoting the Maldives as a premier global travel destination.

The agreement was formalised during the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai, with Matt Ross, Senior Vice President of Global Sales at Qatar Airways, signing on behalf of the airline. MMPRC Managing Director Ibrahim Shiuree represented the Maldivian side.

Under the agreement, Qatar Airways’ extensive global network spanning more than 170 destinations will be leveraged in conjunction with MMPRC’s marketing expertise to drive increased tourist arrivals to the island nation. According to a joint statement, the collaboration will encompass a series of campaigns, media initiatives, and business development and awareness programmes, all designed to position the Maldives as a must-visit destination.

In a complementary development, Qatar Airways has also partnered with Maldivian Airlines to offer integrated ticketing options that include domestic flight connections within the Maldives. This streamlined approach enhances the travel experience by facilitating smoother passenger transfers between Velana International Airport’s international and domestic terminals.

Qatar Airways currently operates multiple daily flights to the Maldives, offering seamless connections between the archipelago and key markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
