The young man arrested in the investigation into the incident where a young woman was discovered collapsed on the rooftop of a residential building in Malé, has been remanded in custody for a second time.

Raudh Ahmed Zilal, 21, who was reportedly with the woman before the fall occurred, was taken into custody following the incident.

He was initially remanded for five days. Today, the Criminal Court extended his detention by a further ten days.

In addition to Raudh's arrest, police have seized mobile phones belonging to seven individuals, including that of the 21-year-old woman, who is now receiving medical treatment abroad. The seizures were carried out under a court order.

Authorities have also imposed a travel ban on eight individuals connected to the investigation.

A special commission has now been established to investigate the case.
