Emirates Airlines and the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) have entered into a partnership agreement to promote the Maldives in various travel markets.
This was formalised during the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai, with the Senior Vice President for Commercial Operations, Essa Sulaiman Ahmad, signing on behalf of Emirates, and Managing Director Ibrahim Shiuree on behalf of MMPRC.
According to the agreement, Emirates will promote the Maldives throughout its network, organise familiarisation flights, and introduce promotions in collaboration with MMPRC.
MMPRC is confident that the partnership will enhance the Maldives' global visibility and boost tourist arrivals.
Emirates has played a significant role in supporting Maldives tourism since it began operations in the country in 1987.
Statistics revealed that in 2024, Emirates carried more than 339,000 tourists to the Maldives, and more than 91,000 tourists in the first quarter of this year, proving its importance in the Maldives tourism.
Over the years, Emirates has significantly expanded its operations in the Maldives, now operating five daily flights to the country.
Emirates is also supporting the improvement of domestic air travel in the Maldives through a collaboration with Maldivian Airline.
