Two individuals were arrested in Hulhumale’ on April 30, on suspicion of possessing illegal drugs. The arrests took place at approximately 6:52 p.m. after the suspects were stopped while riding a motorcycle.

The Hulhumale' Special Enforcement Team and Counter Narcotics Intelligence Unit carried out a joint operation, leading to the suspects' arrest under a court order.

During a subsequent search of their apartment, authorities discovered eight packets of suspected narcotics and 23 tablets believed to be banned drugs. Additionally, cash totaling MVR 40,515 and USD 136 was seized, suspected to have been obtained through drug trafficking.

The Maldives Police Service has confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
