Bank of Maldives (BML) has opened applications for its 2025 Bank Fund, which provides financial support to locally registered non-governmental organisations (NGOs) for community-based projects.

According to BML, five selected projects will each receive MVR 200,000. The fund is intended for initiatives in education, environmental conservation, sports, and community development.

Applications are open to Maldivian NGOs only. Entities such as individuals, state-funded institutions, business entities, and employees of BML or their immediate family members are not eligible to apply. All applicants must either hold a BML bank account or have applied for one before funds are awarded.

To apply, organisations are required to submit several documents including a completed application form, project proposal, registration certificate, latest annual report, articles of association, and documentation of three previously completed projects with budgets of at least MVR 200,000. If applicable, a stakeholder approval letter, such as from a council or school must also be included.

Applications must be submitted by email to [email protected] before 4:00 p.m. on May 29, 2025.

The Bank Fund was introduced in 2023 following BML’s earlier Community Fund, which supported 100 projects from 2019 to 2024. The Bank Fund is awarded annually, and project proposals are assessed based on sustainability, community benefit, and potential for long-term impact.
