The Government has significantly reduced rental prices for kiosks and stalls at the upcoming Dhiveheenge Ufehduntherikamuge Maurazu 2025, also known as Maldives Expo 2025, aiming to boost participation from home-based producers and small businesses.
The price adjustments affect stalls in the Marketplace, specifically designed for home-based producers and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), as well as areas designated for the Digital and Innovative District, Creative Economy District, and other vacant exhibition spaces.
In the Marketplace, where 20 kiosks are allocated for home-based producers and others for SMEs, the daily rental fee for home-based small businesses has dropped from MVR 1,111 to MVR 444. Other small businesses will now pay MVR 666 per day, down from the previous MVR 1,111.
Additionally, stall prices in the Digital and Innovative District have seen reductions ranging between MVR 3,000 and MVR 4,000.
According to the Government, the kiosks provided will be of a higher standard than those typically seen at Maldivian exhibitions, featuring arrangements designed for the convenience of both vendors and visitors.
Eligibility for the home-based producer kiosks is open to any Maldivian citizen over 18 years old who produces goods from home. Businesses applying for other stalls must be registered under the Business Registration Act and fall within the SME category. These criteria support the Government's policy to promote the development of SMEs.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade will process applications on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested parties can find application forms on the exhibition's dedicated website, www.expo.mv, and via links shared on the event's social media platforms, according to the Business Centre Corporation (BCC).
Billed as the largest creativity exhibition ever held in the Maldives, Dhiveheenge Ufehduntherikamuge Maurazu 2025 is extending participation opportunities across all islands of the archipelago.
The event is scheduled to run from May 23 to 31 at the Central Park in Hulhumalé.
