Ooredoo-MMPRC partnership to boost Maldives tourism

Ooredoo Maldives and the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) have entered into a strategic partnership to enhance the Maldives’ reputation as a premier global travel destination.

The agreement was formalised during a special signing ceremony at Ooredoo’s headquarters in Hulhumalé. It was signed by Bilal Kazmi, Group Chief Commercial Officer at Ooredoo Maldives, and Ibrahim Shiuree, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of MMPRC.

Through this collaboration, Ooredoo will harness its extensive international footprint to amplify MMPRC’s destination marketing initiatives, particularly across Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa. The partnership seeks to bolster the Maldives’ global presence and attract a broader spectrum of international visitors.

Speaking at the ceremony, Khalid Al Hamadi, Managing Director and CEO of Ooredoo Maldives, expressed pride in aligning with MMPRC to promote what he described as one of the most breathtaking destinations in the world. He highlighted that Ooredoo’s robust global network uniquely positions the company to inspire more travellers to discover the Maldives’ natural beauty, vibrant culture, and world-renowned hospitality.

MMPRC CEO Ibrahim Shiuree noted that the alliance would unlock new avenues to elevate the country’s profile in global markets. He emphasised that Ooredoo’s strong presence in diverse regions presents a significant opportunity to increase brand visibility and stimulate tourism growth.

This strategic partnership demonstrates Ooredoo Maldives’ ongoing commitment to national progress through impactful collaborations, while actively supporting the Maldivian economy, particularly the tourism sector.  an increasingly global audience.

The collaboration aims to promote the Visit Maldives brand to over 147 million Ooredoo customers worldwide, marking a major step in extending its global reach via the Ooredoo Group’s expansive network.
