The Maldives Meteorological Service (Met) has issued a white alert warning of severe weather conditions expected to affect several atolls this morning.

Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, accompanied by wind gusts of up to 40 mph, are forecast between 4:00 and 10:00 a.m. The alert is in effect for regions spanning from Haa Alifu Atoll to Laamu Atoll.

Residents and visitors are urged to take necessary precautions. Boat operators, in particular, are urged to navigate with extreme care.
