Deputy Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen convened a meeting on Monday with Superintendents of Police to deliberate on measures to enhance the professionalism and effectiveness of the police force.

Held at Iskandar Koshi, the meeting addressed issues such as moral integrity, responsible leadership, and the importance of cultivating public trust. Commissioner Naveen underscored the need for the police to maintain ethical standards and provide services that citizens can rely upon.

He stressed that all police officers should be proficient in communication and should apply these skills consistently in the execution of their duties. Senior officers, in particular, were urged to embrace this responsibility and promote a collaborative and respectful working environment.

Commissioner Naveen highlighted the importance of senior personnel serving as role models, stating that strong leadership at the top would guide junior officers towards delivering optimal service to the public.

He also called for a collective effort in preserving the values of the police force, reminding officers that transparency particularly in disclosing information that may rightfully be shared was fundamental to earning public confidence.

Naveen advised that officers remain vigilant and conscientious during duty hours. He further encouraged senior officials to foster an atmosphere of mutual respect and to ensure that all tasks are conducted with professionalism and dignity.

Acknowledging the challenges associated with policing, he urged officers to make measured and thoughtful decisions under pressure. In particular, senior staff were advised against making rash judgments in complex situations.

Despite limited resources, Commissioner Naveen urged the police to act with heightened responsibility and maintain high standards of conduct. He concluded by reaffirming the importance of upholding a strong work ethic, integrity, and cooperation at all levels of the service.
