President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended his condolences following the passing of Abdul Azeez Mohamed of Husnuheenage, Fuvahmulah City.

In a message shared on his official X account, President Dr Muizzu described the late Abdul Azeez as a talented and accomplished individual from a distinguished family recognised for its contributions to education.

The President highlighted Abdul Azeez's service as an English teacher at Addu Nooraanee School during the 1960s, where he taught and mentored many students. He also noted his long and dedicated career in the maritime sector, serving for more than three decades and travelling extensively around the world as a cargo vessel captain.

President Dr Muizzu said Abdul Azeez's passing was a significant loss to the nation, describing him as an experienced and highly respected individual.

The President extended his sincere condolences to Abdul Azeez's family and loved ones, and prayed for Almighty Allah to grant him forgiveness, mercy and eternal Paradise.
