The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has announced a vacancy for the position of Supreme Court judge.

Applications are open until May 22 and can be submitted via the JSC’s Fahires Portal or delivered in hard copy to the JSC counter during official working hours.

The vacancy follows the removal of Supreme Court Justices Dr Azmiralda Zahir and Mahaz Ali Zahir.

The Supreme Court bench comprises the Chief Justice and six judges.

Under the Judiciary Act, Supreme Court judges are appointed in consultation with the JSC, following nomination by the President and approval by a majority of members present and voting in Parliament.
