A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed for the second phase of the Eydhafushi road modernisation project. 

The agreement was formalised at a ceremony on Monday, with State Minister Hassan Rasheed representing the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure, and Managing Director Brigadier General (Retd) Ali Zuhair signing on behalf of Road Development Corporation Limited.

Valued at MVR 75.68 million, the project includes fencing a 5.3-kilometre stretch of road, constructing drainage systems and dwarves, and installing road markings and signage.

This initiative aligns with President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s commitment to upgrading rural infrastructure by developing major roads in every island during his term.
