The Maldives Expo 2025 officially commenced on Friday evening at Central Park, Hulhumalé, bringing together the country’s largest exhibition of entrepreneurship, craftsmanship, and innovation.

The event was inaugurated by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, accompanied by First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed. Following the opening, the First Couple toured the stalls, which showcased the talents and creativity of Maldivian individuals and businesses from across the country.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and the Business Center Corporation (BCC), 383 exhibitors are participating across 14 main categories and 82 sub-categories. The handicrafts sector saw the highest participation, with notable contributions from Kaafu Malé and Baa Thulhaadhoo. Over 3,600 applications were submitted for this year’s event.

Organised jointly by the Ministry and the BCC, the Expo aims to promote local entrepreneurship, enhance the visibility of small and medium enterprises, and support the growth of the creative economy.

The opening ceremony featured a fireworks display. The Expo will run from May 23rd to 31st and is open to the public daily from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Central Park, Hulhumalé.
