The Ministry of Finance organised a special meeting to express gratitude to donor organisations and multilateral banks for their contributions to the development of the Maldivian people over the past year. The meeting, held in the capital, was presided over by Finance Advisor Ahmed Naseer.
The gathering was attended by representatives from prominent international agencies active in the Maldives, including the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the World Bank Group, and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Advisor Naseer extended heartfelt thanks to these organisations for their financial and technical support for various development projects. He also conveyed the government and the Maldivian people’s gratitude to other donor agencies that were unable to attend the meeting.
“Our relationship with each of your agencies is based on our dedication to make efforts to improve the well-being of our country and our people,” Advisor Naseer said during his remarks.
As a gesture of appreciation, mementos were presented to the attending organisations on behalf of the government and the people of the Maldives.
