The Ministry of Tourism and Environment has issued a call for expressions of interest (EOI) from tourist resorts to join the iCOAST Maldives programme, a national initiative aimed at promoting sustainability across the tourism sector.

Launched in partnership with the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), iCOAST Maldives will offer selected resorts technical assistance to strengthen sustainable practices. The programme focuses on key areas including policy development, green financing, operational sustainability, and knowledge-sharing.

Resorts are encouraged to apply by Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. Submissions must be made via the online form at https://forms.office.com/r/LhAVLsdcrq.

According to the Ministry, the initiative is part of the Government’s broader commitment to align tourism development with global climate and sustainability goals.

The programme is open exclusively to resorts operating within the Maldives. Successful applicants will benefit from expert-led guidance and collaborative opportunities aimed at reducing ecological impact while improving operational efficiency.
