The training programme “Kalhuohfummi Fashan” organised by Dhivehi Gaumiyyathuge Isvaruge has been officially inaugurated.

A special ceremony was held today at the Dhivehi Gaumiyyathuge Isvaruge Office, attended by the Minister of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage, Adam Naseer Ibrahim, along with members of the group.

According to the Ministry, this programme marks the first phase of a national initiative to equip participants with knowledge and skills in various areas of Dhivehi heritage and to disseminate that knowledge across the Maldives. The initial phase is scheduled to run for three months.

Under the “Fashan” programme, trainers will be trained in key areas including Dhivehi language, history, arts, geography, and culture.

Speaking at the event, Minister Adam Naseer stated that significant and valuable work is urgently needed across all aspects of Dhivehi heritage. He noted that President Dr Mohamed Muizzu places strong emphasis on the revival and development of this sector, as the survival of the Dhivehi people is intrinsically linked to the continuity of their cultural heritage.

The Minister expressed confidence that the programme would produce a new generation of young, skilled individuals actively engaged in preserving Dhivehi heritage.
