Special flu clinics have been established at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) and Hulhumalé Hospital to provide care for Maldivian pilgrims returning from this year’s Hajj pilgrimage.

More than 1,000 Maldivians performed Hajj this year, and pilgrims have now begun returning to the country. It is common for illness to spread during this period, prompting the launch of dedicated medical services.

IGMH has urged returning pilgrims to visit a clinic immediately if they experience fever or other symptoms of illness. The IGMH flu clinic is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and is located at Patient Care Room Number 10.

The hospital noted that patients must first report to the ER triage counter, where they will be issued a token via the QueueBee Token System and directed to either the flu clinic or the emergency room based on their condition.

Meanwhile, Hulhumalé Hospital has announced that its flu clinic will be open daily—except Fridays—from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and is located near the hospital’s main counter.

Both hospitals have advised all patients to wear masks when visiting the clinics.
