A one-year-old boy is in critical condition following a serious road accident in Alifu Alifu Thoddoo on Wednesday night.

According to reports, the accident occurred when a speeding motorcycle struck the child after he suddenly entered the roadway. A video of the incident has since been widely circulated on social media, prompting concern from the public.

The child is currently receiving treatment at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in Malé.

Authorities have confirmed that the motorcycle involved in the incident has been towed from the scene as part of the ongoing investigation.
