Mariyam Insha has been nominated by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu for membership in the National Integrity Commission (NIC). Her nomination has been submitted to the People’s Majlis for approval.  

The President's letter, addressed to Parliament, was read out during Monday's Majlis session. It outlined that, in accordance with Article 3 of the National Integrity Act, the President had selected Mariyam Insha from among those who applied for the position during the open application period from 13 to 20 November.  

The letter formally requested the People's Majlis to take appropriate action regarding the appointment. Following the session, the matter was referred to the Committee on Independent Institutions by the Speaker of Parliament for further review.
