Salat al-Gha'ib (funeral prayer in absentia) will be conducted today in Baa Eydhafushi for Nasrulla Abdulla, who went missing at sea over five years ago.

Nasrulla was reported missing following a collision between a launch and a dinghy near the Angafaru lagoon in Baa Atoll on January 2, 2020. Despite extensive search efforts by authorities at the time, he was never found.

According to the Baa Eydhafushi Council, the court officially declared Nasrulla’s death in April this year, following a request submitted by his family.

Following the court’s ruling, Salat al-Gha'ib will be performed in three mosques in Eydhafushi after Friday prayers today.
