White alert issued from Haa Alifu to Alifu Dhaalu Atoll

The Maldives Meteorological Service (Met Office) has issued a white alert for widespread regions, warning of deteriorating weather conditions expected for several atolls.
In response to evolving weather conditions, the Met Office has issued a white alert from Haa Alif Atoll until Alif Dhaal Atoll. The alert is in effect from 10:45 until 16:30.
With this alert, the Met Office has forecasted heavy rain and thunderstorms accompanied by wind gusts reaching up to 40 miles per hour.
The Met Office has also predicted unsettled weather over the next 24 hours, with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms expected across the region.
According to the forecast, winds will blow from the south to southwest at speeds of 5 to 15 miles per hour, with gusts reaching up to 35 miles per hour during showers. Seas are expected to become moderate during showers with a wave height of 2 to 5 feet.
The Met Office has issued an advisory warning of possible wave surges during high tides.
Authorities have urged caution, especially for those at sea, and advised the public to stay vigilant amid the potential for worsening weather conditions.
