Hulhumalé Hospital has launched its first-ever medical internship programme, opening applications for 15 aspiring medical students to gain hands-on clinical experience.

Hulhumalé Hospital is set to begin the programme in July and has opened the application window until July 8 at noon. 

Alongside the launch, Hulhumalé Hospital announced the eligibility criteria for applicants, which include:

The Government is expanding internship opportunities for medical graduates in the Maldives. Previously, MBBS graduates could only complete their internships at IGMH. However, new placements have since been introduced at ADK Hospital, and most recently, at Hulhumalé Hospital, marking a significant step toward increasing local training options for Maldivian medical students.

In May this year, the Government extended the medical internship programme to the atolls by opening internship opportunities at Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH).
