Three individuals injured in a recent road accident in Raa Atoll Fainu remain in critical condition and are currently on ventilator support at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), officials confirmed.

The patients include two minors, aged 14 and 18, and a 49-year-old man, all of whom sustained serious injuries in the incident and were transferred to Malé for advanced care. They are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit.

The accident occurred on June 26 when a motorcycle ridden by two individuals under the legal driving age lost control and collided with pedestrians out for exercise. 

A total of four people were injured in the crash. While three were transferred to IGMH, the fourth is currently receiving treatment at Ungoofaaru Regional Hospital.

Police have launched an investigation into the crash, focusing on the involvement of underage riders and the circumstances leading up to the collision.
