State revenue jumps 13.3% to MVR 16.7 Bn

The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has revealed that total State revenue reached MVR 16.7 billion by the end of June, an increase of 13.3 per cent compared to the same period in 2024.

Tax revenues, which amounted to MVR 13.4 billion in the first half of 2025, rose by 7.4 per cent from MVR 12.5 billion over the same period last year. Non‑tax revenue rose even more steeply, climbing 46.6 per cent from MVR 2.2 billion to MVR 3.2 billion.

In US dollar terms, tax collections surged from USD 460 million to USD 607 million, a 31.9 per cent gain while non‑tax receipts jumped from USD 101.5 million to USD 165.2 million, marking a substantial 62.7 per cent increase. Altogether, the Maldives accumulated USD 772.5 million in revenue during the half-year, reflecting a 37.4 per cent rise compared with USD 562.1 million for the same period in 2024.
