President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has met with members of the Fodhdhoo Council, the Women’s Development Committee (WDC), and heads of local institutions to discuss the island’s key development priorities and community needs.

The meeting was held at the Fenaka Office in Fodhdhoo during the President’s ongoing tour of Noonu Atoll.

During the discussions, the Council raised several pressing concerns, including proposed changes to the harbour development project, the need for a multipurpose hall at the island’s school, and the recruitment of additional staff.

They also requested the transfer of authority over the island’s old electricity grid to the council and urged the government to address management issues on the island.

Members of the WDC highlighted the challenges they face due to low wages, despite being tasked with cleaning the entire island. They also stressed the need for a larger futsal turf and discussed the importance of establishing point-of-care services as part of the ongoing health service upgrades on the island.

President Dr Muizzu assured the Council and WDC members that he would look into the concerns raised.

Cabinet ministers and heads of Government institutions present at the meeting also provided updates on ongoing development projects in Fodhdhoo and outlined the Government’s efforts to address public concerns.
