The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has begun the process of raising salaries for civil servants, in line with President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s commitment to implement pay harmonisation this year.
Speaking at the opening of the Aharu Medhu Muraajaa (mid-year performance review), CSC President Mohamed Nasih announced that discussions are currently underway with relevant agencies, including the Pay Commission, to facilitate the salary adjustments. He noted that the Pay Commission is also engaging with other institutions as part of this process.
Nasih urged civil servants to perform their duties diligently during official working hours, rather than relying on overtime to complete tasks.
When the Government presented this year’s budget, MVR 500 million was allocated for pay harmonisation. The planned salary increases are expected to primarily benefit the judiciary and the civil service.
