A recipient being conferred National Award for Special Achievement last year – President's Office
Nominations are now open for the 2025 President's Award for Special Achievement, with the Special Awards Committee inviting applications from individuals who have demonstrated exceptional capability and contributed significantly to national progress.
Presented annually, the President’s Award for Special Achievement remains one of the highest national recognitions of excellence, celebrating outstanding accomplishments across academic, creative, and professional fields. The 2025 edition introduces four distinct categories to reflect the diverse nature of such contributions.
The first category recognises individuals who have published research at Maldives Qualification Authority (MQA) level 10, as well as those holding qualifications at MQA levels 7 to 9 who have completed dissertations or research projects evaluated as outstanding.
The second category acknowledges those who have attained top positions in international competitions or exhibitions, with the Committee highlighting the significance of such accomplishments in raising the country’s profile abroad.
The third category focuses on academic researchers who have developed innovative solutions to national challenges, rewarding original thinking supported by rigorous inquiry.
The fourth category is aimed at young individuals aged 18 to 35, whose creative and innovative contributions are directly advancing national development. The inclusion of this group reflects the importance of youth participation in shaping the country’s future direction.
Winners of the 2025 President's Award for Special Achievement will be formally recognised during the Republic Day celebration, where their achievements will be honoured by the Government.
Applications must be submitted by Monday, 15 September 2025, via the President’s Office website.
