The Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has completed the establishment of the sewerage system in Baa Dharavandhoo. 

The system was officially inaugurated by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu during a ceremony held on the island today. The ceremony was attended by the company’s Managing Director Abdul Matheen Mohamed, Government Ministers, and members of the local community.

Over the course of the project, MWSC constructed the main sewer network and the sea outfall, established sewer pumping stations, installed household junctions, and completed all connections to the network. To ensure the system’s sustainability, the local Administration has also been provided with vehicles for its operation and maintenance.

The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure awarded the contract to MWSC, with the total cost of the project amounting to MVR 40.29 million. The completion of the system is expected to enhance public services and support the island’s future development.
