The People’s National Congress (PNC)’s greatest strength is the leadership of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works Adam Shareef Umar has said.

Minister Adam Shareef made the remarks while addressing a ceremony held on Friday night to inaugurate the party’s campaign hub for the Maafannu North constituency.

Speaking at the event, he said candidates contesting in the upcoming elections are actively campaigning across the country. Referring to activities in Malé City, he noted that President Dr Muizzu has personally taken part in door-to-door campaign visits, describing this as a reflection of party unity and leadership.

“Yesterday, our party’s leader, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, began door-to-door visits. Through these activities, we see the strength of our party’s organisation, the unity within it, and the President’s leadership,” Adam Shareef said.

Minister Adam Shareef further observed that a large number of women attended the ceremony. He said the PNC recognises the importance of women’s participation and seeks to create opportunities for women within its activities. He added that First Lady Sajidha Mohamed’s presence and engagement at the event reflected support for women’s involvement.

On the upcoming elections, Adam Shareef said the party is confident of securing 80 per cent of seats. He noted that more than 70 seats have already been secured without contest, which he said indicates public support for the President’s policies.

He stated that electing PNC candidates in Council and Women’s Development Committee elections would support the implementation of Government policies, adding that having councillors aligned with the Government’s vision would benefit communities.

The minister said preparations for the elections are complete and that campaign materials have been distributed to islands across the country. He concluded by thanking Campaign Manager and PG Leader Ibrahim Falah and the party’s team for their efforts in organising the campaign.
