The Maldives Police Service (MPS)  has seized a quantity of suspected narcotics intended for smuggling into Baa Thulhaadhoo during a raid conducted earlier this week.

Police said the operation, carried out on 2 September, followed a tip-off that drugs were being transported to the island. Officers raided a ferry launch at Thulhaadhoo harbour and discovered packets containing 6.73 grams of suspected drugs inside a bag on board. 

No arrests have yet been made in connection to the case, but investigations are under way. The operation was carried out as part of broader efforts to tackle drug smuggling, distribution, and abuse in island communities.
