The Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has announced that more than 2,900 housing agreements have been signed under the Gedhoruveriya housing scheme, with the process continuing daily on working days since it began on 21 July.

According to FDC, a total of 2,955 contracts have been completed so far, with a total of 3,070 contracts scheduled for agreement signing. The corporation said it is working to finalise contracts with the 4,000 beneficiaries of the scheme, urging applicants to ensure their documentation is complete to speed up the process.

The Ministry of Construction Housing and Infrastructure has set allocation policies for the distribution of flats. Three-bedroom units are being prioritised for applicants scoring above 76 marks under the original eligibility criteria. Remaining three-room flats will be awarded to those scoring above 75, through a lottery system, while two-bedroom units are being allocated to applicants with scores above 73.
