MATI opens condolence book in memory of MU Manik

The Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI) has announced that a condolence book will be opened in memory of Mohamed Umar Manik (MU Manik), its former chairman and one of the pioneers of Maldivian tourism industry.
MU Manik passed away in Singapore on 30 August 2025.
The condolence book will be available for signing from 7 to 14 September at the MATI office, located on the fourth floor of Fasmeeru Building, Boduthakurufaanu Magu. It will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on Fridays.
MU Manik played a central role in shaping the Maldivian tourism industry since its inception in 1972. Over the years, he was honoured with multiple national awards for his contributions, including the National Award of Recognition, the Maldives Independence Silver Jubilee Award, and the National Award of Honour. In addition, he was conferred the Order of the Dignified Rule of Muleege Dynasty, the third-highest state honour.
