The Maldives Pension Administration Office will host the annual 'Maldives Finance Forum' on 10 September, bringing together financial sector stakeholders to discuss the development of the country’s financial and social security systems.

Established in 2012, the forum serves as a platform for industry leaders to exchange views and explore policy and market developments. This year’s edition is themed “Building a Resilient and Inclusive Capital Market.”

According to the Pension Office, the Maldives’ financial system remains predominantly bank-centric, while the capital market is still nascent and underutilised. The forum will therefore focus on the strategic role of capital markets in creating a more transparent, resilient and inclusive financial ecosystem.

Discussions will cover the opportunities and challenges facing businesses, investors, and the public in engaging with the capital market. The programme will include keynote speeches, presentations, and panel discussions on a range of related topics.

The Pension Office said the event will bring together leaders of the Maldivian financial sector as well as international experts.
