A groundbreaking ceremony has been held for the new corporate head office of Island Aviation Services Ltd. (IASL).

The event was attended by Managing Director of Malé Water and Sewerage Company Abdul Matheen Mohamed, IASL Managing Director Ibrahim Iyas, Deputy Managing Director Ali Saleem, as well as members of the IASL Board and staff, marking the occasion with corporate pride and national significance.

Construction is taking place at the Raaveriya Plot, located at the junction of Majeedhee Road and Boduthakurufaanu Road, the site of the former IASL building. The new 12-storey office, covering approximately 4,745 square feet, has been designed to consolidate IASL’s workforce—currently dispersed across five separate locations—into a centralised hub. This move is expected to deliver considerable cost savings by reducing leasing expenses, while also improving collaboration and efficiency across departments.

The ground floor of the new building will feature a ticketing office, offering passengers enhanced convenience and a streamlined customer experience. The project has been contracted to Hunan No. 6 Engineering Company Ltd., with completion scheduled for December 2026.
