President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has established a new State-owned enterprise, the State Pharmaceutical and Medical Supply Corporation Limited. 

This was established under the authority granted by Section 15 of the Companies Act (Act No. 7/2023).

The corporation’s primary mandate is to streamline and strengthen the supply and procurement of medicines, medical consumables, and equipment across the Maldives.

Wholly owned by the Government of the Maldives, the new corporation is expected to play a key role in ensuring reliable, efficient, and sustainable access to essential medical supplies nationwide.
