President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has declared Sunday, 2 November, as a Government holiday.

According to a statement issued by the President’s Office, the decision was made as 3 November, Victory Day, is a public holiday. Declaring 2 November as a holiday will allow Government employees to enjoy consecutive days off, combining the weekend with Victory Day.

Victory Day, observed annually on 3 November, is a public holiday in the Maldives commemorating the failure of the 1988 coup attempt against the Government.
