Sri Lanka has expressed gratitude to the Maldives for its timely relief assistance following the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditwah. The Government of the Maldives has decided to provide USD 50,000 in financial aid, along with 25,000 cases of tuna cans, to support Sri Lanka’s humanitarian efforts. Cyclone Ditwah brought heavy rainfall, strong winds, and widespread flooding across Sri Lanka, causing extensive damage to homes, infrastructure, and displacing thousands of people. The gesture reflects the longstanding friendship and strong diplomatic ties between the two neighbouring countries.
