Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has introduced a new artificial intelligence (AI) bot named “Mithuru” on its official website, along with several new features designed to enhance accessibility for users with disabilities.

The AI bot and accessibility upgrades were inaugurated by Minister of Social and Family Development Dr Aishath Shiham at a ceremony where HDC also announced 30 job opportunities for persons with disabilities.

The updated website now includes functions that allow users to adjust font sizes, modify colour schemes and use a screen reader, making the platform more accessible to people with different visual and cognitive needs. A “dyslexia-friendly” font has also been added to support users with dyslexia.

HDC stated that these enhancements aim to make its digital services easier and more convenient for all users. The corporation added that it remains committed to ensuring Hulhumalé develops as a comfortable, inclusive and accessible environment for every resident.
