As part of ongoing efforts to clamp down on illegal foreign businesses, authorities have closed two more businesses in Malé.
The Maldives Immigration, working jointly with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and the National Taskforce, inspected eight locations suspected of operating without proper authorisation.
During the operation, two foreign nationals working without proper permits were arrested, and the two businesses were issued closure notices.
The Government has urged the public to report any illegal business activities by foreigners. Reports can be submitted anonymously through the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade website, via the hotline at 3333199 (8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.), or through the Immigration Watch portal.
