The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has concluded a large-scale operation to remove illegally parked vehicles, unregistered vehicles, and vehicles registered outside Zone A in Hulhumalé.

A total of 787 vehicles were towed from Hulhumalé Phase 1 during the operation, which ran from 6 to 11 December. The vehicles included 252 registered in the wrong zone, 186 unregistered or without boards, and 349 parked illegally on roads.

The police expressed their gratitude to Government agencies, State-owned companies, and private organisations for their assistance. MPS also thanked the public for their cooperation and stressed that continued support is essential to maintain convenience and order on the streets of Hulhumalé.

Similar operations have previously been conducted in Malé City, where MPS works in coordination with the Local Government Authority and other stakeholders.

Police have stated that these regular enforcement activities are aimed at improving traffic flow, pedestrian safety, and general public convenience.
